About
Freya Wynn-Jones is a director, singer and animateur working across a wide range of professional, educational and community settings. With a particular interest in the relationship between theatre and vocal art, Freya works on numerous collaborations to write, compose and devise new work.

Garsington Opera Hospital Passion Play
Hospital Passion Play, a new opera by composer Orlando Gough, will be performed as part of this high profile exhibition at the V&A Museum on 14 October. The event will involve live performance from three choirs alongside the screening of a series of films of intimate performances from hospitals across London and Buckinghamshire. Following on from an established partnership with groups at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, we will again be working with a small group of patients from the NSIC; this time partnered with members of Garsington's Adult Community Choir.

English National Opera: in partnership with NSPCC
As part of an ongoing partnership between ENO and the NSPCC, a 2-day residency will be held devising around the topic of Aida with young people from across the country.

English National Opera: Towards Another World
As part of a day of performances by ENO at the V&A, the youth company will be reviving excerpts from their recent production Threads Of The Past (Lilian Baylis House, July 2017). An operatic response to Aida, the piece will be woven into a take over of the V&A space.

Glyndebourne: Raise Your Voice
Raise Your Voice is an opera project for local people living with dementia and their carers run by Glyndebourne's Education Department with support from local volunteers.

A one day workshop exploring the themes, music, story and characters of Marnie, a world premier by Nico Muhly.

As part of the Formations Masterclass series, Freya will be directing a new opera. Founded in 2012 by artistic director Ella Marchment, Helios Collective is an opera company that has development and connectivity at its heart. Through innovative and imaginative programming, Helios enables its ever-expanding community of performers, creatives, and arts partners to work together to shape the future of opera.

Freya will be directing the next of the Far Far Away series. Based on an original story from writer-in-residence Kate Wakeling, this immersive performance for children aged 0-4 and their families will delight and surprise.

Garsington and Magna Vitae: Carehome Project
The launch of a pilot project to bring opera into care homes in the Skegness community. Working alongside a musician and singer, we will be working with a group of people living with a dementia to create our own musical responses.

As one of the successful composers for Open Call, I will work with Spitalfields over the next four months to develop a laboratory-style commission which will be presented as a work-in-progress event during February 2018.

ENO Youth Programme: Satyagraha devising project
A three day devising process exploring Satyagraha with 13-18 year olds from the London area. The final product will be shared at Lilian Baylis House.
